Meedra Surratte is a seasoned education and community advocacy leader with more than 20 years of experience in organizational development, special education systems, and family engagement. As the Founder and Principal Consultant of MDJ Consulting Group, she leads a portfolio of consulting services designed to strengthen organizations, build internal capacity, and improve outcomes for children, families, and communities.
Through her leadership, MDJ Consulting Group serves as the parent company for Education Consulting Plus LLC and Virtual Business Systems LLC—offering integrated support across education consulting, operational infrastructure, and strategic business services. Her work focuses on helping schools, early learning programs, nonprofit organizations, and community-based agencies implement sustainable systems that center equity, collaboration, and results.
Meedra’s expertise is grounded in both professional and lived experience. As a parent of a child with a learning disability, she brings a deeply informed perspective to her work, particularly in supporting systems that serve children and youth with disabilities. She has designed and led statewide initiatives, facilitated leadership and advocacy training for families and professionals, and partnered with organizations to strengthen school-family partnerships and improve service delivery.
A skilled facilitator and strategist, Meedra specializes in organizational planning, family engagement frameworks, professional development, and grant development. She is known for her ability to translate complex systems into practical, actionable strategies that empower leaders and communities alike.
